GARY R. WEART
I had the privilege to serve our country in The United States Army during the Vietnam era as a Counterintelligence Special Agent. This service taught me to work together through teamwork while respecting rules and regulations within a chain of command setting. Through my veteran experience I have attained the tools necessary to carry out the duties of my office as North Carolina State Senator while operating within the parameters of the U.S. and N.C. State Constitutions. My lifelong passion is and always has been for public education. This service includes as public school educator in social studies & science, administrator, teacher support specialist, as a coach of seven sports and as co-founder of S.A.V.E. (Students Against Violence Everywhere) at West Charlotte High School in 1989 that now functions as The S.A.V.E. Promise Clubs throughout North Carolina, 49 States and several other countries. I was humbled and honored to be awarded the Order of the Long Leaf Pine by Governor Roy Cooper in 2024 which has deepened my desire to serve and restore hope to my home district here in Rowan and Stanly Counties as their next state senator. I will be a voice OF and FOR all the people whom I serve.
